The problem of waste is one of the environmental issues that is increasingly complex along with the increasing population and economic activities of the community. Non-optimal waste management can cause various forms of environmental pollution, such as soil, water, and air pollution. Therefore, regional waste management policies are an important instrument in supporting efforts to control environmental pollution. This study aims to analyze regional waste management policies and their role in supporting environmental pollution control. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a literature study method through the analysis of various policy documents, scientific journal articles, and reference sources relevant to waste management and environmental policies. The results of the study show that regional waste management policies have a strategic role in reducing waste generation and improving environmental quality through the application of the concept of reduce, reuse, recycle (3R), the development of waste bank programs, and increasing community participation in waste management. However, the implementation of the policy still faces various obstacles, such as limited waste management infrastructure, low public awareness, and lack of coordination between stakeholders. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen policies, increase institutional capacity, and educate the public so that waste management can run effectively and sustainably in supporting environmental pollution control.
