JKL: Jurnal Kehutanan dan Lingkungan is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to the dissemination of high-quality research, critical reviews, and applied studies in forestry sciences and environmental management. The journal serves as an authoritative platform for foresters, environmental scientists, ecologist, academicians, and policymakers to publish original research that addresses contemporary challenges in forest conservation, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable natural resource management.

Scope and Topics JKL welcomes rigorous submissions based on empirical fieldwork, laboratory experiments, and policy analyses. The journal’s scope encompasses a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Forest Ecology & Silviculture: Forest dynamics, biodiversity conservation, tree physiology, forest regeneration, and agroforestry systems.

  • Forest Management & Economics: Sustainable forest management (SFM), forest inventory, remote sensing and GIS applications in forestry, and forest resource economics.

  • Environmental Conservation & Climate Change: Carbon sequestration, watershed management, soil and water conservation, climate change mitigation, and ecosystem services.

  • Forest Product Technology: Wood science, non-timber forest products (NTFPs), biomass energy, and bio-composite materials development.

  • Social Forestry & Environmental Policy: Community-based forest management, forest governance, customary forest rights, and environmental impact assessments.

Publication Frequency and Access JKL is published biannually (twice a year). The journal strictly operates under an Open Access policy, ensuring that critical findings in forestry and environmental research are completely accessible. All published articles are immediately, permanently, and freely available for the global academic and environmental community to read, download, copy, and distribute under a Creative Commons (CC) license, eliminating any subscription barriers.

Peer Review Process To guarantee the highest scientific integrity and quality, every submitted manuscript undergoes a strict double-blind peer review process. Independent expert reviewers in the fields of forestry and environmental sciences evaluate submissions based on their conceptual originality, methodological soundness, accuracy of data, and practical contribution to environmental sustainability. The identities of both the authors and the reviewers remain strictly confidential throughout the evaluation process to ensure absolute objectivity.

Mission Statement: The mission of JKL is to advance the scientific understanding of forest ecosystems and promote evidence-based solutions for environmental challenges. By bridging the gap between advanced forestry research and practical environmental management, the journal aims to support global efforts in mitigating deforestation, preserving biodiversity, and achieving a sustainable balance between ecological protection and human development.
