JTERNAK: Jurnal Peternakan is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to the comprehensive advancement of animal science and livestock technologies. The journal provides an authoritative and rigorous platform for animal scientists, researchers, academicians, extension workers, and industry professionals to publish original research articles, critical reviews, and short communications addressing contemporary challenges and sustainable innovations in the livestock industry.

Scope and Topics JTERNAK welcomes high-quality submissions based on empirical studies, laboratory experiments, and field research. The journal’s scope encompasses a broad spectrum of animal husbandry disciplines, including but not limited to:

  • Animal Nutrition and Feed Science: Ruminant and non-ruminant nutrition, feed formulation, pasture and forage science, and alternative feed technology.

  • Animal Breeding, Genetics, and Reproduction: Quantitative and molecular genetics, livestock selection, artificial insemination, and reproductive biotechnology.

  • Livestock Production Systems & Management: Farm management, animal welfare and behavior, housing systems, and environmental control in livestock production.

  • Animal Health & Biosecurity: Preventive veterinary medicine, herd health management, epidemiology, and biosecurity protocols on livestock farms.

  • Livestock Products Technology: Meat, milk, and egg processing technology, food safety, post-harvest innovations, and the chemistry/microbiology of animal products.

  • Livestock Socio-Economics & Agribusiness: Supply chain management, livestock marketing, agribusiness management, and rural community development related to animal farming.

Publication Frequency and Access JTERNAK is published biannually (twice a year). The journal strictly adheres to an Open Access policy, ensuring that the dissemination of livestock knowledge is entirely unrestricted. All published articles are immediately, permanently, and freely available for the global academic, farming, and industrial community to read, download, copy, and distribute under a Creative Commons (CC) license, eliminating any subscription or paywall barriers.

Peer Review Process To uphold the highest academic and scientific integrity, every submitted manuscript undergoes a strict double-blind peer review process. Independent experts and scholars in relevant animal science disciplines evaluate the submissions based on their scientific originality, methodological rigor, accuracy of data analysis, and practical significance to the livestock sector. The identities of both the authors and the reviewers remain strictly confidential throughout the evaluation process to guarantee an objective assessment.

Mission Statement: The mission of JTERNAK is to foster scientific dialogue and accelerate technological innovation in animal science and livestock production. By bridging the gap between advanced scientific research and practical farm implementation, the journal aims to support sustainable agricultural development, enhance regional and global food security, and improve farmer livelihoods, ultimately contributing to a more resilient and efficient livestock ecosystem.
